About Us

Who We Are
Formerly Upper Wenatchee Valley Citizens for Recycling (UWVCR), Leavenworth Recycles is a volunteer-run 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to expanding recycling options in Leavenworth and the Upper Wenatchee Valley in Central Washington.

Mission Statement
The mission of Leavenworth Recycles is to establish, promote, and maintain a recycling center in Leavenworth for use by area residents, businesses and visitors, in order to educate, conserve resources and reduce waste.

Vision Statement
Leavenworth Recycles envisions a sustainable recycling center which:

  • achieves active participation from residents, business and visitors to reduce consumption, reuse items whenever possible and recycle waste material
  • implements innovative solutions to present and future waste-related problems
  • results in eco-friendly practices within our community and in partnership with other communities
  • educates on sustainable living practices

Feasibility Study
494 surveys were returned, resulting in an 8.8% response rate. Responses were largely positive, expressing agreement for establishing a convenient drop-off recycling center in Leavenworth. Contact us if you would like a copy of this survey to fill out and return to us. We appreciate your feedback!
