| Metal Recycling Event
April 3, 2010 - Chelan County is offering a free Metal Recycling Event at the Dryden Transfer Station for residents to get rid of most unwanted large appliances and scrap metal, and for a minimal cost, tires and auto batteries. It is ONE DAY ONLY!
The Dryden Transfer Station on Hwy. 2 will be open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will accept refrigeration units, sprayers and automobiles. [There are 4 other locations which are collecting on March 27 as well, please refer to the end of the article to get the info on these site.]
There is a $20 fee for refrigeration units that contain, or once contained coolants. Units will not be accepted if they contain any food.
Tires & Auto Batteries: take to TDS Tire Center on S. Wenatchee Avenue; Discount Tire at 1914 N. Wenatchee Ave. Fees vary by style $2 - 3.00 charge for passenger tires, & an extra $2 - 4.00 for tires on rims. Rims are not accepted. Auto batteries free at many battery retail locations, or up to $2.00 each.
Cars, motorbikes & trailers with titles are accepted at Dryden. Orchard sprayers are also accepted at these sites, they must be well rinsed. Motorized units and sprayers must have fluids & tires removed. Tires may be removed at the site, but participants must take tires to an approved recycler. Contact the Cou nth Sheriff for lost titles, 667-6400.
Orchard sprayers must be rinsed; tires removed at the collection site or prior to delivery.
DON'T BRING:
Propane bottles, fencing, wire, cable, televisions, computers, pressurized tanks, mattresses, light ballast, non-aluminum canopies, enclosed barrels & tanks, or garbage.
